Power In Our Hands
It’s easy to say the best way to offer outstanding customer service is to know your products inside out.
But we at Algeco UK are taking it a step further, by getting our key suppliers to bring their equipment to our training sessions so our people can see it up front and find out exactly how it works.
In this way, we can offer our customers advice and guidance based on the best possible product knowledge.
Over the next few weeks Algeco UK is conducting Power and Atamate training sessions at several service centres around the country, where our people can see some of the most exciting cutting-edge equipment all set to transform how customers can manage their building’s systems.
The training aims to boost our team’s knowledge about power connections, customer requirements and the latest energy-efficient solutions, including Speedy's generator and battery units in tandem with Atamate’s AtBOS system.
Our people will attend these training sessions to understand the importance of accurate power connections and customer requirements, as well as to learn about the latest in technology hybrid power solutions.
The training will start at the Nuneaton service centre and travel across the country, making sure as many Algeco people experience it as possible.
Algeco has invested significantly in this training programme as a commitment to continuous learning and innovation.
There are three parts to this training; part one looks at power connections and customer requirements.
Bernard McGovern, UK Managed Services Manager at Algeco UK, talked about the importance of gathering comprehensive information from customers about where and what power they need on-site. He stressed the significance of correct power connections for operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Part two covered the Speedy Generator and Battery Unit. Nick White, Sales Director (Power) at Speedy Asset Services and Greg Mawby, Sales Director, Speedy Asset Services gave a full overview of Speedy’s generator offerings, highlighting the features and benefits.
Nick talked about how battery units work in conjunction with generators to save energy and explained the hybrid solution, unique to Speedy.
The team from Speedy brought a fuel tank unit, generator and battery unit so attendees could see the equipment first hand and understand how they work together.
They also had the chance to talk about how this system integrates with Atamate’s AtBOS technology for better energy efficiency.
The final part of the training was an introduction to the Atamate AtBOS System led by Helen Peach from Atamate
The AtBOS (short for Atamate Building Operating System) is a truly remarkable product - it connects the sensors and hardware deployed in the buildings to cloud software, which provides the customer with analysis, automation and control of those buildings.
It gives them the ability to remotely monitor and control the building to transform its performance.
This means they can check the health and condition of the building by monitoring climate conditions, occupancy levels, environmental conditions, water use, lighting and more, bringing everything into one place.
Those attending had the chance to learn the system’s role in optimising power usage when paired with Speedy’s hybrid solution.
Tom Baker from Algeco UK said: “It was exciting to see exactly what the equipment from Atamate and Speedy was capable of. It will give our people first-hand experience of how customers can benefit from in-depth knowledge of the latest building management systems.
He added: “It was wonderful to see how Algeco UK, Speedy and Atamate are sharing knowledge for the benefit of all parties – and most importantly for the customer.”

The training appears to have gone down a storm with delegates who attended.
One said: “It was great to actually see the fuel tank generator and battery unit in full working order. I am mechanically minded so it makes a huge difference to visualise these products in this way.”
Another said: ”It was useful to see the Atamate products and how they work to save customers money and power when on jobs. Seeing the generator stock in person gave some context behind what we are selling which is useful.”
